Experience the ancient art of wheelwrighting and carriage building with New Zealand's only full-time traditional wheel and carriage works.

You'll be given a detailed, hands-on demonstration of wheel construction from the seasoning of the timber to the fitting of steel or solid rubber tyres. We'll tell you of the history of the trade in New Zealand and you can view carriages currently under repair or construction in the various workshops here in Gladstone.

We can provide a Country Devonshire Tea as an option to complement the tour.
